Mac App Store opened the other day.

I downloaded some Apps as a trial. The UI is similar to iTunes Store but if download you can see interesting effect. However, my impression to this is not so positive. There are three reasons.

Honestly speaking, I know it’s not so expensive as a usual software, rather cheap, but it’s more expensive than iTunes Store’s App. We have been anchored by the price of iTuned App store already, so we feel it seem to be expensive so much. It depends on not the price but human psychology. Therefore, I downloaded free Apps only.

There are free trial version to be exact, but it’s different from past style. In case that there are normal version and pro version of one App, normal version is free trial in many cases. We can’t try full function of pro version with normal version. Mac App Store killed time-limited trial application.

It’s same as iTunes Store, it’s hard to search what I want. There are too many Apps. We can’t check everything. In the result, we don’t check Apps except ranking. I think things should be individualized whether Apps or not, so I don’t like ranking. Ranking is one kind of foisting stereotypical sense of worth. It will be better, if we can find Apps more easy and search by function.

先日、Mac App Storeがオープンしました！そこで感想を少し。

見た目はiTunes Storeのアプリ販売に似ていますね。試しにいくつかダウンロードしてみましたが、Dockに至るまでのエフェクトはさすがAppleだと思いました。しかしながら、私の感想は好意的なものではありません。理由は三つあります。

正直、普通のソフトウェアとして考えれば高くなくむしろ安くすらあるということは分かっているのですが、私たちはすでにiTunes Storeでアプリの値段に関してアンカーをおろされてしまっています。無意識のうちにiTunes Storeのアプリと比べてしまいどれも高価に感じてしまうのです。これは価格の問題というよりは、心理の問題かもしれません。試しのダウンロードも全て無料のアプリでした。

2, お試し版が無い。

これも厳密に言えばお試し版はあります。ノーマル版とプロ版がある場合は、ノーマル版は大抵の場合無料で提供されておりプロ版への誘導が目的です。結局プロ版のフル機能を試しに使うことはできず買ってみるしかありません。これまでのような時限式のお試し版は無くなってしまいました。

3, 探すのが面倒くさい。

これはiTunes Storeでも同じですが、欲しいアプリを探すのが面倒です。開店数日でかなりの量のアプリがあるので、全てをチェックすることが出来ません。結局、ランキングの上位だけをみることになります。私は、アプリに関わらず画一的な価値感を押し付けるランキングが好きではありません。物事はもっと個別化してもいいと思います。機能によって検索できてもっと簡単になればさらによくなるのではと思います。
