What is to work?

In Japan, to work is considered virtue. Therefore, NEET (It is coined term from Not in Employment, Education or Training) are looked down by many people, even if they want to work but they can’t work because of sickness of their hearts.
On the other hand, there are people to live like NEET’s life with respects. I think they like daytrader are nearly equal to NEET, but they have annual income based on their gamble and they pay income tax so they are acknowledged full-fledged. Are they really working ? What is to work?
My Professor gave us easy answer. In Japanese to work is “はたらく”, it can be separated はた and らく. Therefore, はたらく means “はたをラクにする” in English, はた means people around the one like family or other important persons for the one and らくmeans comfort so to work means make people around the one comfort. Surely it may have a aspect of self-satisfied thing but I think it get essence of working.

Labor Value

People must work. This idea is ordinary in Japan. It is may be because it was provided by Japanese Constitution, so we learned it when we were elementary school student. Therefore, we know we have to work but we don’t know the true value of our work.
We are given the pay as consideration for work. However, much of them not provide real value to the society but only rotate economy. Now that economy have grown very complicated, because economy have become global activity. Thus, the pay for workers can be changed by many kinds of factor not their hardness of work. Moreover, the machinery that can work harder, better, faster and stronger than human are developing its variety and cost. According these reasons, I feel our labor value will be change completely.

Money and Value

What is the money? and what is the value? I’m on the way to seek my answer.

The money comes from a replacement of equivalent exchange. At that time, it was simple and it had reasonable value, I think. However, money in modern society completely had been changed from the origins. Its form was changed into plastic, stock or land. They are changing its value by the global economics or international finance. Besides free economics are spreading in the world as a result of information revolution.
I had been thinking that company make right products with right price. Regrettably I can’t understand what is the right price. There are many things left for me to study.

Today the law that makes tuition of high school free was approved at the Japanese congress.

I think this law means that Japanese government regard a high school as a institution that gives basic education Japanese people naturally take.

Therefore, there is no need to sort students by rigid system.

Instead of that, they should plan their future more realistically when they are in high school before taking specialized education.

Education and job have close relationship, so the side of teachers must think the difference and effect of basic one and specialized one.

The social system is changing now so the education system must be changing.

Japanese common people think that”Rikei” students do not need knowledge of history or law and “Bunkei” students do not need knowledge of mathematics.

It is completely bad thinking and I think it has made Japan worse. I am the “Rikei” student but always I feel the need of knowledge of “Bunkei” subjects.

Generally, when “Rikei” students file for the patents, they need knowledge of law. On the other hand, “Bunkei” students especially who study economics need to use mathematics. Besides, my uncle is a professor of sociology, he uses statistics as a his language in his field.

Now that high schools are only pass point of University education for many people in Japan. Therefore, I think they should concentrate on teaching basic methodology of all subjects because it is early for students who have not decided their major to study specialized subjects.

"Rikei" and "Bunkei"

Japanese high school students are forced to choose “Rikei” or “Bunkei”.

They are Japanese traditional method of sorting academic course,

“Rikei” means some kinds of ancestry of natural science and “Bunkei” means some kinds of ancestry of social science.

In my school days, I also chose one course without doubting this senseless system, because I didn’t have a skill to distrust provided system from others or history.

This system easily fill the students’ mind with preconceived notion. It is because almost adults surround them have no awareness of this falsity.

Therefore, if we want to make a revolution to the education system, at first we have to change parents mind of students.

What is the thing that is not changing?

I state my conclusion first, there is nothing like that on this universe. The reason I think so is not I am a buddhist but I feel it is nearer to truth than others. However, there are some historic or epoch-making something like pyramid in our world. They are changing materially but the fact that they made an impact to human race would not change as long as our civilization lasts. I think they have following features, that is they made by leading edge technology at that time. It means they caught age. I want to make something that catch a age.

Things are changing

The graduation ceremony was held today. My friends graduated school and they will fly to the world. They are still my friends and our friendship will last forever but I’m still student and our relationship will change demonstrably. If I graduate my school, it will be change again.
There is a word “諸行無常”(Impermanence) in Buddhism. It means everything doesn’t stay, everything always change. I believe this dogma is just true. This is a basic rule of our universe. On this basis, now I want to change our world better with our friends and I want to believe that we can always change things better.

Request for Platform vender

I wrote about properties of Internet platform on yesterday’s article. That is it is decided only by market share and it will reorganize on older platform. All current platform fulfill this properties, but I think they don’t fulfill something important. It is because I don’t feel simplicity of use about using them. In particular, I think the interface of facebook is full of complexity. It means it couldn’t be designed at all. I think they aim to dominant profit, so it seems that they at first look to market share, not usability. Therefore, I request them to look user. I hate to fit platform, I think platform must fit us.

Consideration concerning Platform

The three persons thought computer will disappear in the cloud. I think which platform will we use is important in the cloud age, and it will be decided in another couple of years. It was interesting for me that I could talk with both current platform vender and contents vender.
My idea about platform is that it would be decided by market share, not by its convenience or lofty philosophy. iPhone or Black berry was only one of many Smart Phone. Facebook or Twitter was only one of webpage. Internet Explorer or FireFox was only one of many browser. Browser was only one of many application. Windows was only one of many OS. However, the dominant one conquered others, and the platform reorganized on it. Therefore, cloud platform will be change its form though tit may not be so speedy.
