Now, there is a fierce power struggle in Japan, you know, it is a fight between powerful politician and prosecutors office. If based on my twitter account, the politician seems to have a justice because there are several people in my account who have the enmity that they had been prosecuted by the authority. However, since I believe absolute justice never exists, I have no interest in their quarrel. I think they have many task to finish faster than it. Considering terrible earthquake in Haiti or current economic circumstances, the existence of that futile fight have been already evil.
Katsuya Nomura is one of the good leader in baseball. His vision is also clear that inexpert people can understand easily. That is ID baseball. (ID means Important Data not industrial design. It is Japanese-English words, it means to deal in the data of rival team importantly.) I don’t know baseball so much, so I can’t say about detailed things. However, I think many people can understand his concept. Since it is a popular fact that he knows baseball very very much, I guess he can lead his team with this. I think that the scene of his retirement ceremony held in last year expressed the goodness of his leadership.
I want to introduce the coach of my favorite soccer team, GAMBA OSAKA, as a good leader in sports field at the beginning of this category. Akira Nishino is who I think a good leader, who lead GAMBA 7 years. This 7 years that is the most long length of incumbency in J League is testament of confidence of front office of the team. The testament is caused not by his achievement that he changed a weak team into one of the foremost team in J League, but by his strong leadership. GAMBA was weak because this team didn’t have plenty of money to have the right skill sets. He led such the team by instilling two visions that were particular for that time. These two visons are possession soccer and attacking soccer. Players who empathize with these visions unite the team and beat other teams. I think his leadership is from these clear and strong visions. A good leader is good at expressing visions to the people.
I think there are many good leaders in sports field. The most important thing, for a team to win, is to unite the team, therefore good leader and good leadership are demanded in team sports.
Honestly speaking, the abilities of leader that are demanded in sports field are rarely different from them that are demanded in any other fields. However, I feel there are more talented leaders in sports field than other fields. Probably dramatic impression and intense excitement may make me feel so, but it is obvious fact. Therefore, I want to do case study by introducing good leaders in sports field after this.
I think it exists that differences in values of leadership between the West and the East, or rather than I should say between hunting people and agricultural people. Hunting people need a leader who gets a result to take a life. If a hunting person gets a game he can choose to give it or not, it means that one person who kills many chases can give order to others. On the other hand, agricultural people can almost certainly get harvest with time, therefore they need reason rather than result. Probably, it is important to break up where for agricultural people, thus a person who reconcile conflicts well can get leadership little by little.
I think this difference can be seen from offspring of them, each of them seems to have different leadership. I don’t want to say which is more important, I want to say there are suitable leaderships for any cases.

I want to be a leader strongly, for this I chose this course. I think design leads manufacturing, so design leads a future of Japan. We have been told that Japanese must develop “Monodukuri” because Japan has only a very little resource by seniors. In here, design make a concept of product which leads manufacturing, it means designer leads Japan. The most shame thing is that some designer don’t be aware of this fact. I study design hard and want to become a leader of social revolution.
The Japanese top leader and the power broker of democratic party had money-related scandal last year. It is because they need a vast amount of money for election or keeping their muscles. I can slightly understand that election needs money because people who want to win a election need to buy votes in some cases, but I can’t understand the fact that there are many dirty leaders. Really they need a dirty money? Really they need to cover up their accounts?
I’m being taught teacher’s belief that account always needs clear. Of course we know politics are not allowed to speak only fine words nevertheless society want the true leader who make the fine words real. We chose design to make it real.

You are sure that you have heard the word “Ecology“. You know this word is flooded with clipped form “Eco” in this age. My professor indicated that on his blog. The word “Ecology” changed its meanings significantly. In the now, it mean hardly a academic field but one of the service, a kind of what is consumed. From this fact, I think that the capitalism which can’t develop economic without consumption don’t seem to have a power to accomplish sustainable development.
Nowadays medical technologies are developing and thanks to that, a lot of people can be cured. You know, it is very wonderful thing! However, I dare say, it was only reply to a question of some disease, not solution to serious problems. I think that the solution that we want to submit is that many people can get regular checkup, if there is abnormal point the patients can get appropriate treatment and nursing care at low cost, if they be cured they can return to the society not laboriously, and finally they can make a good end with the situation that they wanted. I think these are the problem that I will tackle with design. It will be so difficult to solve because but I don’t want to give up. Above picture is petunia. Its flower language is “Never give up.”
