In addition to design, I wrote the reason why I study many fields on previous article, on this article I write the reason why I study not only medical but nursing. The professor who I respect propound importance of nursing. Development of medical care is very speedy, thanks to this people who can be cured from seriously ill or injury are increasing. Then, after be cured, they are definitely under nursing care, and after nursing care they will be back to their home. Therefore, we need development of nursing care in the quantitative as well as the qualitative sense. For Japan that is facing a aging society problem, nursing care is very important but most engineers and designers don’t realize that. Maybe there is only our lab that realize that thing at the department of engineer of Osaka university, so we have big responsibility as pioneer.
Today, I had two meetings with Prof.Ohno and her lab’s member. She is the person who I owe many things and is friend of Prof. Kawasaki. I can’t tell the details of these meetings, but they were good for me about research, thesis and future. Renting her words, the nursing generation has come. When I had heard it at first, I got goose bumps. Although she is usually sedate woman, this words had a passion as well as Prof. Kawasaki’s words.
As you know, there are many engineers in medical field, but my professor deny them, because they can complete nothing if without designer. Therefore, I’m studying design, science, technology and medical in addition to them I’m studying nursing too. I guess, you would think that it’s too much, but I have to study them all if I want to accomplish in a field to make a medical or nursing product. …be continued.
Now I’m writing my master thesis. My research aims to make nursing better with design and engineering. It is our lab’s fate to tackle problems about human life. As you probably know, it is too hard to write a thesis. It’s because the thesis must be the perfection of logic. There must never be any defect in the thesis, if would be it could not be called a thesis. It needs correct and appropriate format and content rather than creativity, because these elements can convince others. Since I think University is the place where people get own logic, it is very important for me. Therefore, I deny graduates in economics of Osaka university who had not written a thesis.
Today, our laboratory was taken a photo for yearbook. I’m proud of my lab, because there are super professors and superior members. I have one example. Prof.Kawasaki gave us a shout, “Why is your work so late? Now 5,000 children are dying in the world. Considering this fact, you have to realize you have no time.” It gave me goose bumps, because I had to look back my daily life. He is always thinking this fact and working very hard, so he can give us a shout. Maybe there are hardly this professor who shout us like that. It’s probably good for student. Regrettably, I’m very far from him, so I must keep studying, learning and training with humility and insatiability.
It’s a little late, but I focus on Twitter which is called a micro blog. I think, it is from not chat but blog that is similar to web diary to show his or her daily life to Internet. Because it is emphasize opening to public rather than sharing with neighbors. It is the result of the quest for instancy and conveniency.
I don’t argue that it is good or not good, but it is clear truth that Twitter got a citizenship. According to this fact, I feel that smallness has more power than usual with the advent of Internet. Nowadays cloud computer is substantializing. It means, super computer and big cabinet will become outdated.
Prof.Kawasaki started to tweet! You must follow him if you want to know twist of capitalism. I guess, his complain will indicate the problem of our society with simple words. Now I focus on his sentence about science and technology. He pointed out the mistake which Japanese use “Kagakugijutsu” and stated the needs and the importance of design. I think so too. Science is clearly different from technology and vice versa. The point is that they need tactics. Now, therefore, design which make concept and figure is very important. For the Japanese future, we young generation have to study and manage all of them.
Two days ago, the government sorting which is biggest-hyped in Japan was finished. A lot of opinions from a lot of people are existing. I do comment about this on this blog.
My basic opinion is affirmative, because Japanese national finance is standing crisis situation, so the regime has to compress its spending. It’s clear truth, therefore needs can be confirmed. However, I have one question to their lack of strategic characteristic. The results of this sorting seem to be without thinking Japanese development. Japanese democratic party must show us concrete and numerical goal of us with long sight for our future, not saying “Yuuai seiji”.
Today, I went to a meeting which I often write about in this blog, the name is Kagakusha ishinjuku. This time was the last time of this year. In this meeting, we were talking about recent sorting by the government and other political topics. Moreover, in after-party we discussed and concluded two radical opinions. First, the Osaka governor should offer Kansai International Airport to American force. If he can do that, a problem of Futenma base and a slackness of the Airport can be solved. Second, before discussing the educational problem the ministry should break existing Japanese university entrance exam. This exam and the study for the exam is the villain of the piece. I enjoyed like this discussion with sophisticated members.
Yesterday, I gave a poster presentation as a representative of my lab to Dr. Thomas Baer who is the President of Optical Society of America and some other OSA members at the 2nd Photonics Day held at Osaka University. Above picture shows the situation of the presentation, from the left me, Dr. Thomas and Prof.Kawata only who can rank with Prof.Kawasaki in Osaka University. Thanks to his good arrangement, I could get this chance. The scientists appreciated our concepts. The point that I strongly felt after the presentation is the importance of envisioning the future, importantly I felt it when I looked other posters which engineer made. I agree with that if without techniques of engineers it can’t work, however if without concepts it can’t exist. Therefore, I have to study design, engineering and science hard more.
My Professor wrote about Tokyo Tribunal on his blog. When I read this, I really felt that I didn’t know Japanese history enough. Since I was science course student in my high school, I didn’t take a course of Japanese history. When I look back now, it was tragedy for me because in junior high school, the time that the teacher of social studies dealt with modern Japanese history was very very short nonetheless the time that he dealt with early people was long. However, I felt a little bit of sympathy to him because I guess that it is very difficult to teach what has complexity and many different aspects.
Tokyo Tribunal just has a lot of different aspects. My study of it have not finished, so I can’t say my complete conclusion but now I have two opinions. First, a problem that it is right or wrong is different from a problem that it is strong or weak or it was won or lost. Second, the logic of this incident had many incomplete points, so we have to redefine this tribunal and people who was judged at this tribunal with individual justice and commonsense at that time, and follow the definition with no ambiguity.
